Just a few updates on us:

Jon: playing church basketball, loving that his Patriots are in the super bowl, getting ready to launch his "AWESOME NEW PRODUCT" at work in Dallas next week.

Brynne: Loving having a baby in the house again! loving her new job as the group exercise coordinator (especially putting on events like the vday date night last weekend and community health event in June) and teaching her new format, R.I.P.P.E.D. Been busy decorating and making the house home. Addicted to Vampire Diaries on Netflix at night when Job is traveling. ;)

Cade: Doing awesome is school. Starting to sound out words and can read small words. Knows all of his ABC's and can sound out, and write out each of them. Taking swim lessons and is "way above his age level" according to his swim coach....diving for items at the bottom of the pool, holding his breath for 15 seconds or more and doing great stroking. LOVES "PUNCH OUT" game on the wii. Is a HUGE help to Mom.

Jay: Loves going to the gym with Momma, playing with all of his friends. Big on coloring people right now. Also doing swim lessons and is starting to swim without a lifejacket. "Is very comfortable in the water" according to his swim coach. Is loving his roll as the big brother...and loves to try to make Cheekies smile. Loves playing PBS kids on the computer. Shares everything. :) Recently got a double ear infection and pneumonia... :( he's a trooper.

Jay Boy

Our little JJ is in such a cute stage right now. He is a quiet, type B personality...fine being in the background. He is a peacemaker, but so goofy! He's talking so much and is very bright. He also has an amazing memory (just like Cade)! He's learning to play computer games (PBS kids), is taking swim lessons (those floppy ears, goggles and dive position are to die for! XD) and is way above his age level...

BUT

he is still so little, and I love to observe him learning and growing each day. He is so brave, but still has his little baby gut and skinny little chicken legs and arms.

Here are a couple of cute things he's said lately:

*While having family home evening, I leaned over and gave him a kiss on the head. He looked up at me and said, "everybody loves me SOO much. Right, Momma?"

*While sipping on some hot chocolate with Cade, Cade said, "Look Mom, I'm the chocolate monster" (mustache).

Jay very seriously said, "I'm a chocolate monster, too. Every time I see chocolate, I eat it."

Jay also is known to be a light sleeper. He and Cade both sleep talk and sleep walk.

A couple of things he's said while we were waking him up (eyes still closed):

"twinkle twinkle little star...."

"wasn't me..."

I wish I could remember all of the other hundreds of things he says all the time that make me giggle every day. :)

For the first time, we had a split opinion on the birthday party theme...

So we did both!

Cade invited 5 friends, and Jay 3.

It was perfect.

We had the parents drop off, and we spent an hour at Bounce N' Party:

Then Jon and I took all of the kids back to our casa to eat pizza, cake and open presents!

The boys had a ton of fun and got very spoiled. :)

We swore we would never own a gaming station (neither Jon or I are into video games), but we gave in quite early, as Cade loves playing his friend's wii's.

So they got their Wii and they love it!

Sister's Lunch

We try to get together as women in the family about once a month for lunch. We switch off whose house it is at and they make lunch for everyone. It's always when the older kids are in school and the younger cousins get a "play date" with eachother.

This time it was at Mikin's house for my mom's 62nd birthday celebration. The theme was "still red hot @ 62"!! It was so fun! Here are all the women there (and Tyce and Johnny).

Christmas Eve/Christmas

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas at our Steve Gatten Family Reunion at some condos in Hope, ID on Pond Orielle Lake.

We were bummed to not have Christmas in our new home, but once we got there, it made me realize home is where the family is.

Christmas Eve we had a big yummy dinner with everyone, then separated to open our one present (PJ's), then met up before bed. We sat by the burning fire and sang Christmas songs as I played the guitar, watched the nativity story video by the church, filled Jesus' stocking with goals for the year, and then Papa read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' to all of the grandkids:

It was awesome.

After the children were nestled all snug in their beds, the adults watched Elf AND Christmas Vacation (tradition)!

Christmas morning, we opened gifts in our own condo with our little family:

We then made a nice, big breakfast and enjoyed a relaxing day together.

So glad Christ was born, and that we are reminded each year of Him.

The Spirit of Christmas

I am not one to sulk, but this Christmas just hasn't been feeling like Christmas.

First of all, it hasn't been snowing.

Second of all, we don't even have a Christmas tree (not for lack of trying)

and third....we wont even be home for Christmas.

Our friends tried to let us not be "grinches" by bringing us a HUGE fake tree, setting it up for us and staying for 5 hours while we tried to decorate it.

After 3 trips to walmart for more lights, Jon touched ONE light and *poof* they all went out.

We couldn't get it to stand up straight, either...so finally after two days of looking at the slanted, undecorated tree we threw in the towel and hauled it off.

The rest of the "holiday to do list" was getting checked off, but I still wasn't feeling in 'the spirit'.

Christmas cards? Check.

holiday work party planned and executed? Check.

our home ugly sweater party planned and executed? Check.

Caroling party with the ward? Check.

Christmas shopping? Check.

Last thing on the list before Christmas?

Holiday FHE. Baking goodies for the neighbors.

I was kind of dreading this, too...as I have been busy the last couple of weeks!

I taught a class that night, so I came home tired, hungry, wanting a shower. Jon had started with the boys (and I had done the prep work earlier) so instead I jumped in helping.

This is when it all changed.

Jon finally stopped watching sports and turned on Manheim Steamroller. We started singing and baking. I gave the boys some frosting for sugar cookies and let them go at it.

Something inside of me took a step back.

It felt like I was an outsider looking in on my beautiful life.

My little Cade...so particular, trying to make every cookie look perfect. Making sure Jay does his cookie right... stopping to give "Cheekies some Bukahs" (who knows...but it's love).

My little Jay Jay....loading up tons of frosting on to one cookie, pouring half a bottle of sprinkles on top, then licking all of it off. As if that's not enough, he dips his hand straight into the frosting cup.

And Tyce....sitting there cooing and gaaing and playing with his fat feet. Occasionally calling for enough attention to where one of us stops to say "hi", make him smile and kiss his chubby face.

Then there was my husband.... the man that I love. The one who I started all of this with! He is such an amazing Father. I sense the deep love he has for our children, for me. I love watching him enjoy his time with us. I know he misses us when he is away, and he soaks us up while he is here. I noticed each time he went out of his way to clean a dish, give our boys a hug, or come up behind me and give me a kiss.

I sat there, busy with my hands but at a stand still in my heart.

This is what Christmas is all about.

These pictures do not capture what I felt on this night.

For the first time in a long time I felt true gratitude for the birth of our Savior. I saw His innocence in Tyce. I saw His purity in Cade and Jay, and I saw a glimpse of His love in Jon.

I wish I could capture in a picture the deep feelings I have for Him, my testimony of the gospel, and the true meaning of Christmas...

so I never lose sight of that again.

No Place Like Home for the Holidays

This Thanksgiving we were super grateful for many things.

Food, clothes, health, family, the gospel...

and our warm, comfy home to live in.

Jon's parents had this beautiful table made by his cousin, Jeff for their home.

They gave it to us as a housewarming gift. Jonny's mother, Nancy, also had given us all of this beautiful china, tablecloth, candles, silver, etc. when we got married and we FINALLY got to use it!

We had Thanksgiving at our house for the second time ever and it was so nice! We were joined by my (Brynne's) parents, Spike and his girlfriend (Rachel) and her mom (Donna...both recent converts to our church). We cooked all day together and at dinner each of us said what we were thankful for. It was amazing to hear their testimonies and how grateful they were for the gospel and each other.

We also had our traditional Saturday Gatten family dinner on Saturday with a talent show and lots of BIG famiy fun!

It was a great Thanksgiving.

It is not all fun, but overall, I am loving the change and challenge!

Cade gave an awesome talk today. His first one ever.

The topic was "prayer is reverent communication between God and me."

Jon helped him write it and he knew exactly what being reverent meant and he did a good job explaining it and relating how he prays to Heavenly Father every day.

As I was up there whispering the words to him, he was so confident. I knew in my heart he would be a great leader someday.

Funky Sleeper

One thing about our Jay Jay is he is a crazy sleeper, and can sleep anywhere in any position. Cade will wake up in the morning in the same position as when we tucked him in, under his covers and cute...and immediately makes his bed when he awakes. Jay will be any which way, and hardly ever the way he should be, covers everywhere, snoring, sprawled and sleep talking.

The other day we told him to go get his pj's on....it was taking a while, so Jon went to check on him. He found him on the stairs like this. PJ pants on, holding a PJ shirt, bum against the wall, and OUT. No suprise...we just laugh. :)

I know that each of my boys' stages are so fleeting and I wish I could just capture each moment in time, from their looks, to their little voices, to their interactions....

They are so cute right now.

Cade gives the cutest prayers...here is a little bit of the breakfast prayer this morning that I can remember:

"....bless me and Jay and Tyce to grow up and get married in the temple, and hold the priesthood

there's nothing I want more than for all of those things to happen.

Jay usually does a repeater when he can't think of what to say:

They also have developed something they say to Tyce A LOT:

while gritting their teeth and trying to restrain their loves into being gentle. :)

Second of all, he scored 2 goals and one was pretty technical (dribble down and shoot in the corner). Not to mention, he sat out half the game so the other kids could have a chance.

Jonny went down for his 5th year of participating in a bike race from Logan, UT to Jackson, WY.

That sounds like a long way, you say?

Well, it is. 206 miles of elevation gain.

This year Jonny went undertrained, and didn't have a true support car (we were SOOO sad to not be there!!) He pushed too hard. He finished the first 80 miles in 4 hours through some tough mountain passes, and ended up dropping out at mile 120 due to fatigue and malnourishment.

It was the first time he hasn't finished and/or finished well.

Next year, he's coming back with a vengeance!!

School's In Session!

Cade had his first day of preschool year no. 2! He has been excited for weeks to start school again, and this time it is much more official. :)

He has a great teacher, Mrs. Scholes, and when I asked him who was in his class after the first day he said, "I don't remember their names, but they were all nice to me." ;)

This little guy is so bright, and loves to learn. We know he will do great!

Ah, my little hikers.

These boys informed me that they wanted to do something "fun" today, since the 2 days prior basically consisted of chores.

So, I took them out to one of my favorite running trails. I had actually taken them both there before in the front pack, and now it was Tyce's turn. They loved it!

Elephant Ears!!

Every year Brynne's Lee side extended family runs the elephant ear booth at the North Idaho Fair to raise money for missionaries in the family. Brynne has been working in this booth since she could tear paper towels. The thing is, you'd think we'd get sick of them.....

but NEVER.

We always enjoy that hot, fresh, artery hardening, sugary sweet goodness.

Hayden Lake (more!)

We've spent quite a bit of time on Hayden Lake this summer at Jon's parents' dock. His brother, Brandon and his kids were in town again this weekend. We had a fun couple of days!

Audrey caught her first fish on her own! (Emma helped get it onto the dock) They were so cute, because once they got it landed, they were both screaming and didn't want to touch it!!

So, Aunt Brynne had to release it. :)

Grandma Helen let us use her gold pass, so we got in for free!

Seattle Getaway!

Jon was working in Seattle and I was able to take Tyce and fly to meet up with him for a weekend getaway to watch the Red Sox vs. Mariners games. Spike and his girlfriend, Rachel, met up with us there.

We hit pike place market, cheesecake factory, breakfast at Great Harvest, IKEA and enjoyed 2 awesome games at Safeco Field!

We had great seats! It was a nice break.

Every summer we all get together on Hayden Lake at Grammie and Grampa's house (wherever that may be ;) ) to hit the dock, lake, boat, and firepit together! It's a great time. They were also able to be here for Tyce's blessing in the mean time.

"I got runned over"

Our little trooper, Jay Jay, got ran over by a 4 wheeler.

With a 3 year old driver.

That's right.

A bunch of little cousins were gathered on a 4 wheeler to take a picture. Jay was right by the back wheel. The key was left in it, and somehow, it got started up and ran full throttle into a huge gear trailer...in the mean time, that back wheel grabbed little Jay, whipped him under the tire and spit him out the back as the wheels continued to spin out shooting gravel at him . There was a lot of screaming, crying, and kids all over, but all I could see was Jay, and I ran as fast as I could to him imagining it going into reverse back over him!! It was one of the most scary things I've witnessed as a parent first hand.

As you can see, he had quite the road rash, and was uncontrollably crying, limping, and saying "my back hurts..." so, we rushed him to the ER for fear of internal bleeding. We know kids can go downhill fast.

LUCKILY, and out of pure miracle, nothing more happened than this road rash. The Doctor who saw him even said we "dodged a bullet". We were so grateful that nothing happened to our Jay that day, or any of the other kids for that matter (Cade was right behind the driver, but was fine, just scared). It also taught us a great lesson....that kids observe and know more than we think and we always need to take every necessary precaution to avoid disaster.

They broke ground on our house about 1.5 weeks ago! We are so excited to watch it progress over the next 3 months and even more excited for when Cade will actually have a yard to play in (even though he loved the dirt and gravel)!

Through the power of the priesthood, Jonny gave Tyce the most beautiful blessing today, requesting that he do great things in his life. The spirit was so strong, and we both got the feeling that this little guy will turn out to be an amazing man.

I just have to give a shout out to baby Tyce. This guy already puts up with so much and is still the best baby around! The transition has been great....in fact, thank you to everyone who braced us with the "three is the worst transition" talk, because it's always nice to have it turn out better than you imagined! :)

Jon got invited to go king salmon fishing with a client up in Alaska on the Kenai River. It is light all night at this time of year, so they fished until 1 am, (below is the first catch, just a regular)

then slept a bit, woke up at 3am and Jon nailed this 40lb king at 5 am!!

He said it was tough to reel it in! Salmon feast, here we come!!

For the 4th, Jon and the boys went with Papa and Nana Gatten to the parade in downtown cda while Tyce and Mommy took a nap. :)

We spent the rest of the day hanging out at Grandpa and Grammie's dock on Hayden Lake and eating yummy barbecue. We even made it for the 10 o' clock fireworks!

We're so grateful for our little family, being able to worship as we may, for all those who are fighting for our country, and for the many, many, other freedoms we enjoy.

This beautiful baby decided to come 18 days early when my water broke on the night of July 1st. I had been swimming with the boys all day. Jon luckily made it home from being gone all week that evening. We spent the night "camping" as a family in the back yard. I squatted down to say goodnight, and BAM! Ruptured membranes.

I had a couple of contractions right away, but they died down and I made it through the night with some rest at the hospital before they put me on pitocin @ 5 am on July 2nd to speed things up.

When I went in I was 90% effaced and dialated to a 2. It took me until about 2 pm to get to 6cm dialated, so I got my epidural and went to sleep!

My dad was thinking I probably wasn't progressing at all since I was sleeping (along with Jon and my mom. ;) 45 mins after dozing off I woke up with lots of pressure and said,

"I think the baby is coming..."

Sure enough, I felt down there and his little head of hair was close!

So, we reluctantly waited 15 mins for the Doc (while Jon and the nurses geared up to deliver!) then I pushed at the end of one contraction... and once more...

then our beautiful, tiny, perfect baby boy made his debut:

We couldn't feel more happy, blessed and content with this guy joining our family. My recovery has been amazing, he is eating great, he's healthy and adorable! We know he was meant to be here, with us, and we can't wait to watch him grow and progress.

There is no doubt in our mind that the Lord has entrusted Jon and I with amazing {future} men to teach and love. We feel Tyce's strong spirit and our hearts are swelling with so much love for him already!!

This year our boys battled two games the first day and 3 games the second day only to win EVERY game and become bracket champs!

It was HOT and, of course, street ball so they all got bruised up and banged up and Scott sprained his ankle (thanks Andrew for playing game #2) and even played the next day!

Way to go Jarman Lyle, Jon Asper, Jonny, and Scott Brady!!

Long time friends who have been through many tourneys together!

So, we decided that we are staying in Post Falls area and will be building this home:

We got a great deal on it and will be in a culdesac in the Fieldstone development right between Post Falls high school and Prarie Falls golf course. :) (A little more North Central PF). The neighborhood is great; nice big park, paths and sidewalks. We should close November 11th.

We are so grateful to get into a home that fits our growing family and excited for the memories to be made here!

We are totally in shock after losing our 7 year old lab, Zoey this morning at approx 3:30 am after a short 3 day deterioration, 2 vet visits and a false hope for her to pull through after finding out she had ingested rat poisoning and had internal bleeding.

This girl was Jon and Brynne's first "baby", and has brought our family so much joy.

It rings so true when they say that no matter what, a dog will always love you.

She did just that.

All we have left are the pictures to show the place she held in our family and in our hearts.

To our companion, hiking buddy, running partner, wrestling buddy & "horsie", right hand rafter, swimmer, fetcher, protector, snuggler, lover and home body. We will miss you so much, Zoey. Our little family has never known life without you.

Cade the pirate

Our little Cader is such a good sport. He has what is called "Duane's Syndrome" in his left eye. What that means is the nerve in his muscle that pulls his left eye out (or to the left) didn't develop. It is irreversible. We have known this for a while, and he has adjusted to it a lot. He will turn his head further when he looks to his left instead of his eyes so he doesn't cross them.

Recently, we started noticing a little extra movement besides just when he would look to the left. We went to a specialist and found out that because of his Duane's syndrome, the part of his brain that controls his left eye has been slower in developing and is starting to cause Amblyopia, or "lazy eye" as well. His case is very mild, (he doesn't need glasses or surgery) but he gets to wear a super-awesome, amazingly cool "pirate patch" for 2 hours a day until that eye (or part of his brain) gets stronger. (They'll check him every couple of months).

The patch is fairly recent, and on Sunday in his primary class at church, they had this lesson:

Cade was excited to tell me how he's glad he has his eyes so he can see (what's in the picture) "Sunshine, and a bridge, and Daddy, and me and Jay!" He told me how Heavenly Father gave us eyes so we can see the beautiful world. This touched me so much.

We have such an immense love for Cade, sometimes our hearts just want to jump out of our chest. He is such a good sport putting up with questions, and "Cade! What happened to your eye??" comments. In our eyes, he is still perfect and beautiful and we are so grateful for his awesome example. We know he will do great as he faces trials in this life, even this small one with his eye.

I wish they all could be California boys....

Well, first of all....WE MOVED!!!......in with the parents for now. :) But, we closed on our house today, so it's officially no longer ours. :/ It's bitter sweet. We are feeling nice and cozy in our temporary arrangements, grateful, and excited to find a new home for us!

Anyway, in the process, I was doing too much, probably, and starting having signs of pre-term labor. Contractions, mucous, baby's head down there, etc! Went to the doctor and found out the baby's head IS in fact down there, but I am not yet dialating. But, I was told to take it easy...no exercise or lifting or other stuff that might make me contract more. I am feeling better day by day. Hopefully that wont last too much longer!

Besides that, just feeling nice and plump and wanting ice cream all the time to help the heartburn die down!

Not knowing if this is my last pregnancy or not, it was so fun to have these done... especially in the beautiful North Idaho springtime. I absolutely LOVE being pregnant. The feeling of growing our child inside of me is such an incredible miracle. There is nothing quite like this time!

Cassie is 30!

Cassie's husband, Andrew had to leave on her birthday to serve in the Air Force, so we had a big girl's night to celebrate! The party started at wild walls rock climbing, (I took pictures! ;)

Then we ate at PF Chang's Chinese Bistro (never laughed harder!!!),

and finished the night dancing away at the Black Diamond.

It was a super crazy, fun night and my sister looks better than ever @ 30 after 4 kids!! I sure love her and appreciate her.

Easter Sunday

After having snow last week, it was so nice to have a beautiful Easter!!

For church, we had stake conference (which was a broadcast from Salt Lake), and it was so beautiful. What a great day to remember our Savior, that he lives, and because of Him we can live again, too!

Jonny's Job

Just an update on Jonny. He loves his job (has been doing it for about a year and a half now) selling medical equipment for Zoll, and is great at it! He is still traveling all over Alaska (yes, even to the very, very remote areas), Washington and northern Idaho. He is gone anywhere from 2-5 days a week on avg. Sometimes he will be home for a whole week and gone a whole week, etc. but his schedule is very flexible, and the benefits are amazing. He also LOVES selling to fire stations and EMT's (he calls them "my guys"). His time consists of giving demos, training buyers on use of products, going to expos (where he has a booth), and enjoying the time with clients when he gets to fish, stay in their awesome lodges, eat king crab and sit in the hot tub. ;)

Tonight he was testing his monitor and enjoying his time with the boys before heading off to Alaska...so he ended up showing them what he sells and making sure they were healthy. They loved it!

We are so grateful to have a Father in our home who works so hard for us to be comfortable. He gives us his undivided, quality time and attention when he's home and we appreciate that, too! We love you!

We dyed/decorated eggs together for family home evening. The boys LOVED it! Let's just say it wasn't the cleanest project... ;) We also talked to them about the real meaning of Easter.

25 weeks!

-a little more heartburn, but can mostly keep it at bay with 2 ranitidine/day.

-starting to crave sweets (baked goods, chocolate...naughty stuff)

-at the high end of healthy weight gain (like I always am. :)

-still teaching my 4 classes/wk @ Liberty Lake Athletic Club (cycle and pump...dropped core pilates.)

-Cade will randomly want to kiss "his baby brother" (my tummy) and will say things like, "Mom ,I'm so excited for my new baby brother." Too cute!

-Jay will see babies and say, "Ders a baby in yo tummy, wite Mommy?"

-starting to get a little nesting vibe (even though we don't have room for him) ;) and have felt a little more energy the last couple of weeks.

On another note, we listed our house again (after a small break) for one last hoorah through summer and fall. If it doesn't sell by winter, we will more than likely rent it out and be outta here! Yay! Pray for us.

Cade often asks who he is going to marry when he grows up. We tell him it will be his choice. (I think it's because we often pray for them to get married in the temple someday and be good husbands and fathers.) This was the other day after picking him up from the gym nursery:

Cade-"Mom, I know who I'm gonna marry when I grow up."

Mom- "oh really? Who?"

Cade- "Jessa. The girl from the nursery."

After inquiring with the gym nursery worker about this later, she informed me that, "Oh yes, I thought they kind of had a thing for eachother. She's always asking him to be her boyfriend and he's always trying to kiss her. " So......we had a little talk about being 16 a little earlier than I thought we would.

Typical guy.

Not to mention, typical things I hear out of both of their mouths are "Let's fight" and "Let's wrestle" and "let's get our guns and shoot stuff"

I can't wait to add some more to the mix.

Six Years!!!

Here we are, almost 7 years ago, falling in love, infatuated with each other and having no idea what we were getting ourselves into.

6 years of marriage, 2.5 kids, a dog, and our same little starter house later, I know more than ever it was the best decision I'll ever make.

We are just beginning!

I love this man more than words can express, and I truly feel like we were made to be together.

We had a full day of celebration. Here's what we did:

A BIG THANK YOU to Cassie and Andrew who took our boys all day and overnight! We felt so spoiled and even got to sleep in. SO NICE!! Love you both.

Brynne turns 26!

Jonny and the boys made my day-of-birth pure awesomeness! To celebrate, we hit downtown Spokane the night before to play in the park and feed the ducks and geese!

We also ate at this ever-so-yummy restaurant we all love:

and then on my actual birthday, I had a great friend, Jennifer Kennedy, take me to lunch at a SUPER yummy bistro in downtown Spokane called TASTE. YUM!! Great girl time away from the kids.

Later that evening, I was visiting teaching until late, so Jonny made me dinner (stuffed peppers....yum!) and we had a PJ party with cake, ice cream presents, and Avatar!

Jonny was so thoughtful with his gifts. (even though he wasn't supposed to get me any because my new car was enough!) He must have heard my complaints lately about no video camera with our kids growing up so fast, and also (with all of the haircuts I've been giving) needing a hair cutting apron for my belly, oil for my clippers, and new scissors....

because he got me all of the above!! :)

Not to mention he put my yakima racks on my car for me!

The boys drew me the cutest pictures and wrote their names, and greeted me with the cutest "happy birthdays" each time through the door. I sure love all my boys!!

I feel so blessed to have my little family, and also all of my parents, siblings and friends who took the time out of their day to call, text and make me feel loved! Thank you!

This is my grandfather, Jon's pseudo grandfather, Cade and Jay's great grandfather.

What an amazing man.

Leo James Lee had a rough life. He was a rough and tumble catholic who eloped & converted to the church, a World War II vet who fought on the front lines and got shot with shrapnel,rolled logging trucks 2-3 times down mountains, got smashed by a 1 ton piece of equipment @55 yrs and shattered his pelvis...but still he lived.

He lived because he was supposed to.

Without him, we would not have the 4 children, 29 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren of his.

Including us.

We would not have the patriarch, the camp breakfast maker, the wood getter, the supporter (@ everything), the elephant ear booth starter, the temple worker, the geneology guru, the gentle, loving, kind man who showed us what kind of person we should be.

Brynne was able to grow up close to him. To have sleep overs, work with him in his shop, ride in his truck to camping trips, have him at her games, wedding, etc. etc. The last few months, as we watched his hard worked body deteriorate, we got to spend tender moments with him.

Our little family was able to see him in the hospital the last time he went in before he went home for his last days. Then Brynne and the boys stopped by the week of his passing, when he happened to be alone, in his home. She got to sit next to him, lay on his lap, and just talk to him. Cade and Jay were able to give him hugs, show him the toys they were playing with, and resist his tickles. And lastly, one last kiss and "I love you".

He will never be forgotten. We only hope to live as fully as he did.

Now we know he will be reaping his rewards of a great life,

and having a long-awaited reunion with his sweetheart, our grandmother, Fay.

Brynne got to do her hair and sing at the baptism and Jon got to be a witness. The spirit was so strong during the ordinance. We have always been amazed with Camila's strong spirit and the goodness she resignates. We know this is only the beginning for her!

While in the Seattle area, we also traded in our car (see below) and spent the night at a hotel with just our little family. We had a ton of fun swimming/hot tubbing with our two daredevils in water wings! Fun weekend.

It took our ultrasound tech, Trudy, about 2 seconds to see the "package". :) I, of course, cried. Jon couldn't have been happier (he got his wish!), and Cade blurted out, "It's a BOY? But I wanted a sister." He quickly adjusted to the idea and loved seeing him on screen! He is perfectly healthy and beautiful.

It's funny, I've always felt like I'd be a mom of boys...and here I am. It feels just right. :)
